BeWelcome News

We reached the goal of this year's donation campaign within three months only at the end of February! This is absolutely fabulous and we would like to thank all those kind donors!

With those 1700 Euros we have our budget financed and now we can ensure continuation of our hospitality exchange network for the next year. Because your donations enable us to pay our bills, we do not have to finance our community by showing advertisement, sell your data or introduce premium accounts - which we promise…

Have you ever noticed the “Contact Us” link on the footer of every BeWelcome page? There is a small team in behind this whose members answer to the questions and requests submitted by our users: the Support Team.

When members have questions, want to make suggestions, report bugs, complain or give feedback, they “Contact Us”. More often the support team helps in cases of forgotten passwords, when members have difficulties using the map search or want to change their username. The Support Team is…

We would like to introduce you to some of our volunteers. Every one of them decided at one point to spend a little bit of time to help BeWelcome, making this the greatest non-profit, volunteer driven hospitality network out there!

The first interview is with artep. She's coordinator of and part of the New Member BeWelcome Team, which sends out personal messages to new members with kind words and useful information.

The Board of Directors would like to invite you to join our next public meeting.

We do not consider ourselves a "leadership team". Legally the Board of Directors is the administrative "council" that runs BeWelcome on a day to day basis as well as the "steering committee" which takes all the decisions that don't have to be decided by the General Assembly. Our little team of five tries to meet online once every month. Our next online public meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 14th at 14.00

Dear members,

As of March 1st, 2016, BeWelcome will have slightly altered Terms of Use (ToU). We would like to inform every BeWelcome member about those changes, hence the community news. Every member will receive an e-mail with this notification shortly. If you don't receive it, please check your spam-folders and if possible, mark it not as spam and/or add BeWelcome to a whitelist (= accepting all notifications from BeWelcome from now on).

What will change for you?
Most likely nothing will change…

A small team is focussing on redesigning the entire website since some months. The current design of BeWelcome.org is a couple of years old. In the recent past some small design changes have been made but most of the design didn't change for a long time. You might think that this is no problem as long as the site still works. But it is in some ways:

  • Our statistics show that more and more people use tablets or smartphones to access our website. This is very logical as we focus on travelling and…

We would like to use this moment to update the community on what's going on and what can be expected this year. We appreciate all the energy and time that members give for BeWelcome, be it for volunteering on one of our teams, giving us feedback or by simply hosting or being a great guest!

What's on our agenda?
Behind the screen, we're working on several…

Everyone can find the basic information about the Board of Directors (BoD) of BeVolunteer and what it does. Not so many have actually encountered one of the board members to get an idea of who they are.

That's why the board decided to interview themselves, as active members of BeWelcome, to show the persons behind this entity. If you have any interesting questions to ask the board, feel free to write them here!
